I’m An Only Child….
…. and because of this I’ve always had this weird fascination with the idea of a sibling. More importantly, I am filled with wonder as I gaze at siblings who look a lot like each other. It gets me to thinking, if I did have a brother or a sister, would we look alike? If so how much?
To you, the non only child you must be thinking that I am insane for being partially obsessed with something so trivial, but hey, there’s only one genetic spawn of my parents out there and it’s me. At this point, you can’t help but wonder “what if?”
The kicker here is that I’ve never actually wanted a sibling growing up or now. I’ve been quite content with my life and how it turned out, so I can’t complain. But the idea of another version of me out in the world both creeps me out and fills me with fascination.
That being said, stay tuned for the moment in my life where I decide to have a kid. I’m sure I’ll have the exact same reaction.
