I’ve been horrible about updating lately, and for that I am sorry. This is my last semester at school, meaning I am done in a couple of weeks. This also means that everything that is due between now and then has been kicking my butt. So I assure you that once I am no longer a student, but instead an unemployed bum, I will update more often. But until then, remember me as the happy girl you knew before all this work slammed into my head!

Another (and final?) Head Update

I met with my brain surgeon today to discuss whether or not we will set a date for surgery to fix the condition I have. (see original blog post here if you forget)

It turns out that after my EEG test (see THAT post here) I proved to be 100% healthy despite the Chiari! Which means NO SURGERY FOR ME! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!

I'm Scared!!

It’s never been a secret that I’m a total wuss when it comes to scary games. I thought maybe after my love for the Half Life series I would be a little more desensitized to creepyish, crawl around in the dark, type games. I was wrong.

This weekend I started playing Bioshock. I had watched my BF play the majority of the game, but for some reason watching is different than playing. Maybe its because I can turn away at the jumpy parts! But the main reason I started to play was because I know from various podcasts and whatnot that this was a game not to be missed.

I got up to the surgeon. The guy obsessed with making everyone pretty, and in the end just kills all of his patients because they are not pretty enough. Which to those who have played the game know that that is not very far at ALL. I had to stop playing! At least for now.

There are various components to the game that creep me out. The setting, the music, the splicers yelling and sneaking up all over the place, THE RECORDED DAIRIES! I have no idea why these creep me out the most, but I actually think this is a case of the voice acting being TOO good. Not to mention that they are laying out the story for me in more detail, and well.. the story is creepy as well.

I guess it was the perfect weekend to start playing Bioshock, what with it being Halloween and all. But I think this is one game I’ll be playing when the sun is still out.

I’m such a wimp.

So the next few months are going to be tough as far as gaming goes. AWESOME, but tough. There’s a lot coming out all at once which will be rude to both my wallet and my time.

I’ve narrowed it down to three MUST haves. The rest will have to take a time out until I can get through everything. Fable 2, Fallout 3, and Gears of War 2.

Titles that ALMOST made it: Call of Duty: World @ War, Animal Crossing Wii, Mirrors Edge, Left 4 Dead, Rock Band 2 (I know its not ‘new’ per se, but this is MOSTLY for the AC/DC pack that James wants so bad… we may end up having this one after all. ;))

I know I have a few gamers out there that read this, what are YOU planning on picking up in the next few weeks?
